What do you do?
My niche is candid family photography. We can meet at whatever time and place you think works best for your family. You enjoy being together, and I shoot away. The more fun you guys have, the better the pictures.
What do you mean by “candid”?
Informal and un-posed. No matter where we meet, the goal is to create images that reflect your family’s personality. However, that doesn’t mean undirected. I’ll be your guide to ensure you get the images you want.
What are your rates?
I charge $100 for a 1hour photo session, follow up editing, and a disc with all of the images (both originals and edited).
Where should we meet?
Meet at a park, the beach, your living room. The location is about what is special to you, comfort and convenience.
What time should we meet?
Time is best determined by considering your family’s needs. Consider nap and meal schedules, your children’s "best hour", and day plans. Morning usually works best. I don't use light to determine the time like other photographers, because to me what really matters is that everyone has a good time and the photos will follow.
What if it rains?
We can reschedule, unless you would like puddle stomping pictures (which are very cute).
What should I wear?
In keeping with the informal and un-posed philosophy (candid), anything goes. Although, there are general guidelines for what works:
- Above all else, dress for the weather (comfort), not the photos. You need to be comfortable to have a good time, and if you’re having a good time, you’ll have good photos.
- Solids or simple patterns
- Coordinating the family’s attire in some way (all wearing the same color family for example).
Why do you give the original images as well as the edited?
I only edit my favorites, but I don’t want to assume that your favorites are the same as mine, so I give you every image. Also, I want you to see the power of editing, and realize that with a little manipulation I can give you the image you want.
How does printing work?
I give you a disc with the images, and then you can take that to any lab (from Bartell Drugs to Panda Lab) for processing. I’m happy to give guidance on sizing and print quality.
